If you need to return an item, please email us at weborders@sandiegomarine.com within 30 days of purchase for a Return Authorization number. Returned merchandise will not be accepted without authorization. Return shipping costs will be at the customer’s expense, unless the product is defective. Life rafts, cut goods, clearance items, and with few exceptions, special ordered items are not returnable, unless defective, and then for repair, refund or replacement only at the manufacturer’s discretion. Returns may be subject to a restocking fee if not in resalable condition.

When attempting to ship outside of USA or Canada. Please use our store address as the ship to location and then list your address in the order comments section on the checkout page. We will contact you with updated shipping costs. Please note that the shipping and CA tax that you will be charged at checkout will be put towards the updated shipping cost.

We currently only use PayPal as our payment processer for online orders. You do not have to have a PayPal account ahead of time. Once you have chosen PayPal as your method of payment at checkout, choose the “Pay with Debit or Credit Card” option to checkout as a guest. You will then be prompted to enter an email address, and if that email address has at anytime been linked to a PayPal account, you will be prompted to login.

In your shopping cart, click the “add comments” button, write your comment and click “save”. Your comment will be sent when you place your order.

You can use our website to get the prices on all items, including the price of available shipping options, by putting an item in your “Shopping cart” and clicking “Checkout.” Then, enter your shipping address on the next page. This will allow you to see the full price of a potential purchase before entering any payment information. 

Please note that most orders ship from our location within 2 business days of order placement. (Mon-Fri)

Our website is plugged directly into the USPS & UPS pricing tables, but sometimes it ends up costing us less than expected (weight discrepancy, smaller box used, ect.) We’ll refund the difference back to you.

Please note that we are not responsible for, nor are we able to estimate or quote, the customs duties, taxes, port handling charges or other customs charges for orders shipped outside the United States. These fees are the responsibility of the consumer. Please also note that your country’s customs process may delay delivery of your order.

The USPS® computer system cannot track your package once it leaves the U.S. via plane. From that point on, packages are tracked only by the mail service of the destination country, territory or protectorate. Frequently, there is no interface between USPS® and these foreign mail services. For this reason, many of our customers use UPS®, even though it is more expensive in most cases.

There are many ways to construct rope. Each of these requires its own, unique version of splicing. Whether you are ordering that service or looking for pointers as you splice your own product from our shelves, our rig shop is here to help. Double braid, single braids, plaited line, wire-to-rope, 3-strand, thimbled, chafe covered, etc., can all be performed in our shop.

Our website will always Charge San Diego sales tax on orders shipped to customers within California. Orders shipped outside of California will not be charged San Diego sales tax.

If you have a tax exemption please contact us to setup a wholesale account with our website.

Accounts on our old site Downwind Marine, are no longer active. Our new site is a completely new system and we cannot access accounts from our previous site.

GROUND FREIGHT ONLY

This icon indicates that the product is not available for airfreight due to federal regulations. We can only ship it via ground services in small quantities within the contiguous (lower 48) United States

DISCONTINUED/STORE CLOSEOUT

Products with these icons have either been discontinued by the manufacturer, or we will no longer be selling them. These items are while supplies last, and we will not be getting anymore in stock. If you purchase more than we have in stock, we will email you to confirm if you would like us to send what we have on hand, or cancel the order.

SPECIAL ORDER ITEM

Products with this icon are only available via Special Order. For these items, please call our store to order.

IN STORE ONLY

This means that we cannot ship this item, and it can only be purchase in one of our store locations.
